A member of the House of Representatives from Osun State, Hon. Bamidele Salam, has told people asking him for money that he does not have what to give them again.
Salam said in a Facebook message that he has given all he can since the coronavirus lockdown started but he could do more than that.
He wrote on Tuesday night:
Let me make a public confession of helplessness to those who have sent or intending to send S.O.S to me on this fresh lockdown.
Please let us all turn our attention for help to those who control the purse of government; that is GOVERNORS, LG CHAIRMEN, MINISTERS, COMMISSIONERS etc.
As a lawmaker, I am sorry to say that for now, I do not have access to resources to do more than I have done in the last 3 weeks!
I will also continue to advocate for greater social intervention to help poor Nigerians by relevant government bodies at this moment!
This is a painful but necessary post, please!
