Health Minister, Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, has said that he is not aware whether or nor doctors and other health officials handling coronavirus cases in Nigeria are getting any special allowances.
He said this on Thursday in response to a question asked by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who wanted to know how the health workers are being treated.
Ehanire said repeatedly, “I am not aware if they are getting any allowances.”
This irked Gbajabiamila, who insisted that it was the minister’s duty to know.
The minister, however, noted that the health workers were doing their normal duties, suggesting that they needed no extra pay.
This further unsettled Gbajabiamila who thought otherwise, saying, “I thought you say coronavirus is novel.”
It was at a session the national Assembly had with the task force handling the pandemic, led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
