Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, radiated hope and fulfilment on Thursday when the government released 11 new patients who survived coronavirus.
They are among those who had been receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
He said: “I am happy to break to you, my good people of Lagos, the news of the release today of 11 more patients from our facility in Yaba. They have fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19 and have been allowed to return home to their families. This brings to 18 the number of discharged patients in Lagos since the index case was reported.”
According to him, the patients include two females and nine males., noting that their results came negative in two rounds of tests.
He said, “I want to use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers and other professionals for their service.”
The governor reiterated that this was not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance against Coronavirus because of the community infection that we are”beginning to see.
“Again, I assure you that at the end of it all, we will hoist a flag of victory – with your co-operation and by the grace of the Almighty.’
According to him, the patients include two females and nine males. Their results came out negative in two rounds of tests, he added.
” I want to use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers and other professionals for their service.
“Let me reiterate that this is not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance because of the community infection that we are beginning to see. I assure you that in the end, we will hoist a flag of victory – with your cooperation and by the grace of the Almighty,” he said.
All eyes are particularly on Lagos as it has the largest number of coronavirus cases it is catering to.
A curfew is already imposed on the state, alongside Abuja and Ogun.
