The number of novel coronavirus cases on Monday in Turkey has risen to more than 27,000, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said.
“This is an increase of 3,135 new cases in 24 hours, bringing the total number to 27,069.
“As a result of complications from Covid-19, the disease caused by the virus, 73 people died overnight, while the country’s total death toll rose to 574.
“In the same period, the number of people officially recovered from Covid-19 rose from 786 to 1,042, Koca said.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Erdogan, announced an extensive curfew for people under 20 years of age.

On Sunday, the Ministry of the Interior announced some workers were exempted, including seasonal workers in agriculture as well as others under contract.
However, about 31 cities, including the two largest Ankara and Istanbul, have been largely sealed off, with entry and exit only allowed for important supplies.
According to the government, the measure will last for 15 days.
Meanwhile, curfew had already been imposed on people over 65 years of age and international air traffic was suspended. Schools and cafes were closed, and compulsory wearing of masks in busy places such as supermarkets.
Turkey reported its first case of coronavirus on March 11, and since then 181,000 tests had been carried out in the country, with a population of 83 million.
