The Federal Government has urged Nigerian scientists and those in alternative medicine to see the indigenous solutions reported in Madagascar and Senegal as a challenge to them too.
While Madagascar has ben reporting progress on COVID-19 pandemic with a herbal cure developed there, Senegal has also developed a very cheap testing system as well as cheap kits that include a ventilator.
According to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the Nigerian government was ready to support any initiative that can positively impact on the country’s health sector whether now or in the future.
He said on Thursday during the Presidential Task Force on COVIC-10 briefing, ” We are open. The Minister of Health and the medical research institute are collaborating to see how we can develop our own indigenous interventions.
“The only caveat there is that due process must be followed., towards establishing its efficacy. On the whole, this is the time for call to duty, that they need to do what they need to do.”
