The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has lambasted the governorship candidate of the defunct Allied Peoples Movement in the last general election, Adekunle Akinlade, describing his campaign for 2023 elections as “pitiable”.
The APC Caretaker Committee Publicity Secretary, Tunde Oladunjoye, said this on Monday when he spoke on: “Fireworks,” a recorded programme on Television Continental.
Oladunjoye, in response to a question on the 2023 branded vehicles of Akinlade sighted in some parts of the state, said: “It is too early to start discussing issues of 2023 agenda.
“It is pitiable for somebody who is not sure that he will wake up tomorrow to start thinking about 2023 and that’s the problem with do and die politics.”
He added: “Some professionals have abandoned their profession for politics because they feel politics is the easiest way to make cheap money.
“As far as I am concerned, people in politics should have a second address.
“Don’t put all your life on politics.
“How can someone sit down and be talking about 2023?
“Are you sure you’re going to wake up tomorrow?”
Meanwhile, Oladunjoye commended the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the last elections in Ogun State, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, popularly known as GNI, for joining the All Progressives Congress through a proper channel and unconditionally.
He said: “GNI and many prominent politicians in Ogun State, including former Deputy Governor Salmot Badru, joined the APC and they were well received.
“Gboyega Isiaka is a fine gentleman, a first class brain; he has served and served well before.
