A 16-year-old boy on Tuesday appeared in a Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun for allegedly stealing a pair of jeans, jacket and a T-shirt, worth N19,000.
The police charged Adegoke, who lives in Ota, Ogun State with theft.
The prosecution counsel, E.O. Adaraloye ,told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 1 p.m. at No.6 Kasope St., Itele,Ota,Ogun.
Adaraloye alleged that the defendant entered into the house of the complainant, Sodiq Muheeb and stole a pair of jeans, jacket and a T-shirt valued at N19,000.
She said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Vol.1, Law of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however,pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate A.O. Adeyemi admitted the teenager to bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum.
She ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should be gainfully employed.
Adeyemi adjourned the case until March 12 for trial.
