As many people continue to commend Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, he has identified areas worst hit by the scourge in the state.
According to him, Ikeja Local Government and Etc-Osa Local Government have the highest numbers.
He said during a broadcast on Friday:
“If you don’t have any need to go outside, please stay inside. That’s rule number one. In Lagos, the local governments with the highest number of infections are Eti-Osa and Ikeja.”
He also announced that his government has perfected plan for the distribution of food and other essential items to residents.
He noted that the first phase would cover 200,000 households, adding that it would be continuous.
Earlier, the state’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, said up to 39,000 cases of coronavirus may be witnessed in the case.
“Our mathematical modelling shows that the worst-case scenario is that we may see up to 39,000 cases in Lagos, but if everyone practises good social distancing, the figure will be limited to 13,000,” he said.
