A businessman and aspirant for the Yagba West Local Government Area Chairmanship position, David Ibitayo Lanlege has said the death of Hajiya Hawawu Bello is painful and a big loss not only to her immediate family but the entire nation.

Lanlege, a notable hopeful under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, made this known in a condolence message he sent to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello over the death of his mother. Her passage occurred Sunday evening in Abuja after a brief illness. She was aged 101 according to family sources.

Lanlege said that although Hajiya Hawawu died at a remarkable old age, she was not too old to live. He described her death at this time as unexpected.

“Mama has lived to old age and has lived a good life. We all console ourselves with the knowledge that no one can question God, the owner of life. I wish her a peaceful repose of her soul and the family the needed fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.” Lanlege said.
