It was as if the Akure explosion happened in my house – Remdel boss

Remdel Optimum Communications Chairman, Mr. Remi Ibitola, has narrated his experience during the explosion that rocked Akure-Owo Expressway, Akure, Ondo State, early Saturday morning.
According to him, it was so devaststing that it was as if it happened in his room, adding that he lived just about five minutes from the scene.
The producer of movies that include ‘Owo Eje’ and ‘Basorun Gaa’, however, said thst the explanation that it was an explosive being carried by policemen that got exploded raised a lot of questions.
Below is his story as he posted on Facebook on Saturday:
Just as we were trying to adjust to this imposed ‘self Isolation’ and turn it to prayer fiesta, here comes the big explosion that rocked the Akure metropolis. As far as the spot of the explosion is to my house, can’t be less than five miles, it seemed it happened by my house. We all woke up to the pandemonium created by the explosion. We kept wondering and asking questions. We came up with all sorts of possibilities, but all were far further away from the reality- an explosion!
Even as Police claim responsibility and knowledge about this, many questions are still waiting for answers. The Police said they were carrying explosive(s), if they were explosives – suggesting they were many, why was it that there was only (one) bang. One would have thought that there would be explosions coming in succession, given that the explosives cannot detonate once.
With the massive destruction caused by this explosion, one cannot help to ponder why the Police should be in custody of this lethal weapon. Is the Police going to war. It would have made better sense if it were soldiers that are involved.
Many thanks to Coronavirus and the response of Akeredolu to it by closing all schools, other wise, students of the school just at the place of explosion would have been killed in dozens. All the school buildings and the Possibility Ground with about a thousand capacity church hall are in huge ruins and devastation.
