FG speaks on Iwu’s alleged cure for coronavirus

The Federal Government has reacted to the controversy greeting a cure that a former Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission, Professor Maurice Iwu, said he had found for coronavirus.
According to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonanya Onu, the United States is conducting tests on the ‘chemical compound’.
Onu, however, said that Iwu’s initial finding was that the compound could cure SARS, meaning it could not be said he had found a cure for coronavirus.
““They are testing it in the US to confirm whether this could be a cure for Covid -19 or SARS,” the minister said.
