Negative impacts of coronavirus are hitting businesses in different parts of the world.
In two of the latest negative reports, Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) has suspended operations at its smartphone factory in South Korea’s southeastern city of Gumi.
This it did on Friday after another worker tested positive for coronavirus, a spokeswoman said.
This is as german airline, Lufthansa, announced 50 % cut in its flights.
The plant will resume production on Saturday, she said.
So far, six people who work at the factory complex in Gumi, which makes Samsung’s premium G20 smartphones and Z Flip foldable phones, have contracted the disease, leading to temporary shutdowns.
It temporarily closed the factory in February due to the virus
Lufthansa said in a statement that the measure was to reduce the financial consequences of the slump in demand.
The German national carrier had previously said it would be cutting its capacity by the equivalent of 150 passenger planes in the face of plummeting demand due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Earlier, the airline said it would be suspending flights to mainland China until April 24, and Tehran until April 30, and restricting services to other badly affected areas including South Korea and Italy
