There is good news for Africa as the dreaded coronavirus feared to have spread to the continent is actually not yet here.
A Chinese suspected to have contacted it was quarantined in Egypt but a series of tests has revealed otherwise.
The declaration was made on Wednesday by the World Health Organisation and the Egyptian health authorities.
Egypt’s Health Ministry spokesperson, Khaled Megahed, said that a medical team had been conducting periodic checks and analysis on the Chinese national.
Reports aded that the PCR analysis was conducted six times over three consecutive days under the supervision of the Health Ministry and the WHO, and it came back negative in all the tests.
Megahed further disclosed the Chinese national will remain under quarantine for the next 14 days.
