A member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Zakariah Nyampa, has called on the Federal Government to strengthen security in the Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency of Adamawa to prevent attacks by Boko Haram terrorists.

Zakariah, in a statement issued on Sunday, said soldiers stationed in Michika deserved more logistics support to withstand persistent attacks by the terrorists.

The legislator called for the deployment of additional troops to successfully repel the insurgents’ attacks on Michika community.

According to him, the whereabouts of a cleric, Rev. Lawan Andimi, in Michika still remains unknown after the recent attack.

“The efforts by the Nigeria Army are commendable but they need more trucks to repel Boko Haram attacks in Michika.

“Our people had to run helter-skelter when they heard that the terrorists were approaching the town.

“We thank God for their lives, but the only civilian casualty is the pastor whose whereabouts still remains unknown.

“We want government to intensify efforts to find the pastor. Government should also provide more trucks for border areas like Michika,” he said.

Zakariah has called on the people of the area to support the Nigerian army in the fight against Boko Haram, as both the federal and state governments have been making efforts to restore peace in the community.
