Speaker of Edo House of Assembly, Francis Okiye, says the house remain focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people through quality legislative framework.
Okiye made this known while addressing executive members of Like-Minds, NNPC Zonal Office,Warri, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Benin on Thursday.
He thanked them for the visit, promised to remain focused and not to disappoint the people.
He noted that the house had been doing well, adding that it had passed many people-oriented bills and resolutions since inauguration .

He explained that the house recently passed the year 2020 appropriation bill which had since been assented to by the governor.
He, however, expressed optimism that very soon, there would be a full house after the conduct of bye-election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the affected constituencies that had been declared vacant.
Earlier, leader of the group, Favor Fuludu, said that the group’s primary objective was to ensure the development of oil and gas sector.
Fuludu noted that the group decided to pay the speaker a visit to congratulate him on his victory and subsequent elevation as speaker of the assembly.
According to him, we want to also thanked the leader of the house, Roland Asoro and other lawmakers for their co-operation with the speaker which has evidently resulted in unimaginable feats just within the space of six months.
