SAD! OAU loses third lecturer in two weeks

Grief has again struck at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, following the death of another lecturer, Dr Victoria Adebiyi.
This occurred on Sunday, hours after another lecturer from the institution, Professor Jerome Elusiyan, was killed by gunmen.
Elusiyan was the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex and was shot dead while traveling between Ekpoma and Benin.

Yet about a week earlier, a lecturer in the Physical Education unit of the varsity had also passed away, as he was found dead in his office.
OAU’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, confirmed her death on Sunday, December 15th.

Phenomenal.com.ng learnt that Adebiyi was hale and hearty until Sunday morning when she complained of a fever.
She was, however, said to have died in the hospital not long after.
Lamenting her death, a thespian and media official at the University of Ibadan, Ropo Ewenla, recalled that Adebiyi was actively involved in the convocation play of the university, staged days ago.
