Seasoned actor, Taiwo Hassan, aka Ogogo, has been reflecting on the feast that recently marked his 60th birthday.
Interestingly, he and his colleague and friend, Yinka Quadri, hit the milestone just some months apart.
Ogogo, who survived a major ailment years back, said he had cause to throw a big party based on the peculiar circumstance of his birth and survival.
One of the novel things he, however, did in the course of the bash is that he gave his old school a borehole.
He told ‘Sunday Punch’ in an interview:
“We started my 60th birthday from my hometown. I attended Christ Church School in Ilaro. I asked the authorities of the school what they wanted and they said they wanted a borehole. We spent over N500,000 on that. I wanted to give them books but it’s only the present generation that would benefit from that. However, water will outlive many generations if maintained properly.”
“I just want to thank God for bringing me into this world. Being 60 is a thing of joy for me. For example, my Kehinde (twin) is no more. My mother had four sets of twins. I’m the last set of twins and the only surviving one.
“My birthday celebration was not for me. It was to celebrate on behalf of my parents. My late parents would have been happy that God kept me alive. I lost my mother 19 years ago and my father, 49 years ago.
“I’m grateful for all my endeavours, my family. 60 years is not a joke. When God loves one it’s not because one is better; it’s just grace,” he noted
