After spending days in custody, the Department of State Security DSS, have finally released convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore was freed with his co-detainee, Adebayo Bakare, hours after Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court in Abuja gave the DSS 24 hours ultimatum to release them.
Confirming the news, their lead defence counsel, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), said they were released about 7pm on Thursday.
“They were released about 30 minutes ago. They were released to one of our lawyers,” he said.
The DSS were asked to pay a fine of N100k as issued by the Federal High Court.
