This is how Bayern Munich player, David Alaba, explained why he became a Father Christmas and blessed many people in Munich with gifts.
Reports said the 27-year-old defender who was born in Austria to Nigerian father and Filipino mother disguised himself as Santa Claus, complete with a red and white suit, beard and glasses to give out several items including sweets and souvenir photos.
He said, “At Christmas time you should share your joy. Even if it was just a small gesture, people and especially the children in downtown Munich were very happy. And I really had fun with it too.”
“The support of our fans and followers in Munich is extremely important to us – we are happy to give something back at Christmas time.”
