Burna Boy’s album, ‘African Giant’ is now the most streamed album in Africa in 2019, ranking number 11 worldwide.
According to Billboard Africa, who shared the news, the album has been played over 61.7M times on Audiomack.
Billboard Africa tweeted: “Burna Boy #AfricanGiant album is the most streamed album in Africa 2019, it currently has 61.7M+ streams on Audiomack and ranks No.11 worldwide.”
The singer’s album made the list of nominees for 2020 Grammy Awards, in the Best World Album category.
The nomination is for albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental World Music recordings.

He was nominated in the category alongside Altin Gün for Gece, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley for What Heat, Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet for Fanm D’Ayiti, and Angelique Kidjo for Celia.
The major award itself will be held on January 26, 2020 and it will be hosted by Alicia Keys. Nominees were led by Lizzo with eight nominations. She is followed by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X with six nominations.
