Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Busari, has reacted to a report that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and other Peoples Democratic Party leaders were attacked in Lokoja, Kogi State, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
they were said to have been attacked by armed men, some of whom were said to have been masked.
Busari, however, said the claim was false.
Noting that it was men of the state police command that went to the hotel, Busari said, “the police were acting on information of the presence of some hoodlums hiding in an hotel, so we said our men there. When they got to the hotel and discovered they were not there, they left the place.
“When we get information like that, we have to check out. If it is not true we withdraw and that is what we did.Nobody was attacked.”
