An engineer, Robinson Onyeka, on Thursday appeared before a Grade I Area Court in Mpape, Abuja, over alleged purchase of nine stolen laptops.
The police charged Onyeka, 31, with receiving stolen property.
The defendant, a resident of Zone 4, Lugbe, Abuja, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Mr Stanley Nwaforaku, told the court that the defendant bought the stolen laptops from one Hakeem Okeowo sometime in November 2018.
Nwaforaku said that during an investigation, the police recovered four of the laptops from the defendant’s shop and other premises belonging to different individuals.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 317 of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Mr Salihu Ibrahim, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500, 000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Nov. 27 for hearing.
