Today, Sunday, marks the end of the 2019 edition of the Lagos Book and Arts Festival, though the issues and sensation it has been generating since a week ago it started will continue to impact for long. At Freedom Park, Onikan, the organising Committee for Relevant Arts’s popular offering, Stampede, will hold alongside a seminar that has the potential to speak to the Nigerian economic question.

Sunday November 10, 2019- Wole Soyinka describes it as ‘Memoirs of a Ghetto-blaster’.
Keith Richards’ Never Quite the Insider: A Nigerian Memoir is a tour de force fitting for LABAF’s popular, last day roundtable, themed Key to the Knowledge Economy.
Waving humility aside, the former Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria says why he wrote the book: “Twenty years of running multiple businesses in Nigeria qualifies me to write an instructive memoir. Indeed, having blown the whistle on corruption in one multi-national, faced two years of threats and intimidation in the ‘wild east’ of Aba and then sought to change the course of one of Nigeria’s highest profile corporates, I believe I have insights that have value. Throw in some humour and a willingness to tackle controversial subjects and I present you with an unusual account of this misunderstood society and my love affair with it”.
