“I will live as a Nigerian. I will die as a Nigerian. And on the day of resurrection, I will ask God to let me rise as a Nigerian.”
These are the words of the President of the African Development Bank, Akinwunmi Adesina, when he spoke on behalf of awardees of the 2019 edition of the Hallmark of Labour Foundation Awards.
Adesina spoke with a burning passion that many dignitaries at the event could not but be infected with.
He expressed the wish that another say would come when the Nigerian passport would invoke respect for the holder they way it used to.
Other top Nigerians who expressed anxiety and hope about Nigeria include Chief Emeka Anyaoku and Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi.
