Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria again defied the proscription order on them on Friday as they staged a peaceful demonstration in abuja.
They called for the release of their leader, Ibrahim el-Zakzakky, who has been in detention since 2015, following a violent clash with men of the Nigerian Army.
The group was proscribed following violent clashes in July, during which several people died, including a member of the National Youths Service Corps serving with Channels TV, Precious Owolabi, and a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, FCT Command, DCP Usman A.K Uma.
