The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) charged Ifeanyi and Jude Okeke with two counts of conspiracy and unlawful possession of narcotics.

They, however, pleaded not guilty.

NDLEA Counsel, Mr Abu Ibrahim, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Sept 6, at Okota in Lagos.

According to him, Metaphemtamine is a psychotropic substance, while Ephedrine is a precursor chemical which are prohibited by law.

He said that the restricted narcotics are listed in the second schedule of the NDLEA Act, 2004.

The offence, he added, contravened the provisions of Section 19 of the NDLEA Act.

Section stipulates life imprisonment if convicted.

Following a bail application by the Defence Counsel, Mr P.U Nnoli. the court granted the defendants bail in the sum of N10 million each with two sureties each in like sum.

Justice Saliu Saidu ordered that the sureties must own landed properties within the courts jurisdiction.

Saidu adjourned the case until Nov.4 for trial.
