After finishing second for the Best FIFA Men’s Player award, Van Dijk has said he cannot be compared to Lionel Messi.
The Liverpool star insisted he cannot be compared to the Argentine forward and he wasn’t disappointed not to have lost the FIFA award.
Van Dijk finished runner-up to Messi, as there was no show for Juventus and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo who came third.

“The people who vote made a decision and you have to accept it. That’s just the case and as players you can’t compare Messi and me because it’s totally different.

“I’m very proud to be here.
“Disappointed? You can’t be disappointed,” Van said.
The Dutch defender’s nomination came after he won the Champions League-winning for Liverpool, last season.
