Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo, representing Ondo South Senatorial District, has congratulated Hon. Gboluga Ikengboju, representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency over his victory at the Court of Appeal on Thursday.

The Appeal Court in Akure had, on Thursday, set aside the decision of the Election Petitions Tribunal which nullified his victory at the March 9 election over dual citizenship.

Tofowomo in a statement issued on Friday in Okitipupa by his media aide, Mr Olunide Akinrinlola, said the victory was not for People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members alone, but for all the people of the constituency.

The senator, who is recuperating from an auto crash he recently had alongside three other PDP chieftains, said that the judgment had boosted his quick recovery.

He, however, urged Hon. Albert Akintoye of the Action Alliance (AA), who challenged Ikengboju, to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and support the lawmaker for the development and progress of the constituency.

“The Appeal Court judgment which affirmed Ikengboju’s victory is indeed like a good medicine to my health because it has boosted my quick recovery from the accident.

“The victory is not only for PDP members alone, but for all the the people of the constituency as the court has proved to be the last resort and hope of the masses.

“I congratulate Ikengboju on the well-deserved victory and urge his opponent to accept the verdict in good faith and join hands with him to develop the constituency” he said.
