Maverick striker, Lionel Messi, has been named the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year, beating arch rival, Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool fame’s new bride, Virgil van Dijk.
Messi’s emergence is being received with mixed opinions since he was not seen to have had an extraordinary last season, compared to some years he was mile ahead of his peers.
While Ronaldo too did not have an exceptional season, Virgil appeared to have an edge as the D-day approached based on his exploits at similar global shows.
