An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Tuesday remanded one Awojomu Wisdom, 27, in prison custody over alleged selling of Indian hemp and breach of peace.
Magistrate Olukunle Owolawi, who declined to grant bail to the defendant, ordered his counsel, Mr Ben Adirieje, to produce a written application for bail.
Owolawi adjourned the case till Oct. 10 for ruling on bail.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, had told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Saturday at about 2:30 p.m.in Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that the defendant conducted himself in a manner that caused breach of public peace by selling Indian hemp.
He added that the defendant had in his possession a substance suspected to be Indian hemp worth 200kg.
The Prosecutor stated further that the offence contravened Sections 249(d) and 430 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge of breach of peace as well as possession and selling of Indian hemp.
