An Italian television station, TopCalcio24, says it will not use one of its pundits again after he made a racist comment about Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku.
The commentator, Luciano Passirani, had stylishly compared the former Man United forward to a monkey which is said to be because of his skin colour or race.
“He’s one of the strongest and I like him a lot because he’s one of the strongest, he’s at least twice as strong as (Duvan) Zapata from Atalanta.
“If you go one-on-one with him he will murder you.
“The only way to come up against him is maybe give him 10 bananas to eat,” Passirani said.
In response to Passirani remark, despite immediate apologies to Lukaku, the programme director of the station, Fabio Ravezzani said he (Passirani) will no longer participate in their broadcasts.
“he could no longer participate in our broadcasts.I think it was a terrible lack of momentary lucidity.

“I cannot tolerate any kind of errors, even if momentary.
“Mr Passirani is 80 years old and to compliment Lukaku he used a metaphor that turned out to be racist,” Ravezzani said.

The incident comes after Lukaku suffered racial abuse during Inter Milan’s 2-1 win at Cagliari where he was chanted by fans as a monkey.
Lukaku, moved from Manchester United to Inter in the summer, and he helped his side to a 1-0 win against Udinese on Saturday.
