Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba, has been named the new France Football’s Ballon d’Or ambassador.

The Ivory coast international and former Blues star will co-host the award ceremony set for December 2 in Paris, and will present the trophy to the winner.

Drogba never won the award but he was nominated eight times between 2004 and 2012, coming fourth in 2007.

“I feel honoured to present this prestigious award. I see it as an acknowledgement of my career and its exemplarity,” Drogba said in a statement

Ronaldo and Messi have both won five Ballon d’or each and are up for it again this year with Liverpool star, Virgil van Dijk.
