Weeks after his arrest and detention, the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the release of Omoyele Sowore, head of the #RevolutionNow Protest against President Buhari.

According to the judge’s order, Sowore should be released to his lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) who must produce him whenever the court wants him.

The court had earlier struck out the application by the DSS seeking to further detain Sowore for additional 20 days.

He was however ordered to deposit his travel document to the court within 48 hours to guarantee his availability for trial.

He was arrested on August 3rd by the Deparment of the State Services over allegation of treason and money laundering.

Online news platform, Sahara Reporters, owned by the former presidential candidate, had earlier released an alleged transcript of Sowore’s interrogation by the DSS.

According to the transcript dated August 6, 2019 shared on their website, Sowore said he was maltreated, thrown on a cold floor and had no contact with even the guards for two nights.
