Alhaji Aga Mukuku, the Chief Whip of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has advised the people of Eggon to unite with other tribes in the state to achieve peace and progress.
Muluku, APC-Nassarawa Eggon East, made the call on Wednesday when the National Union of Eggon Students(NUES) visited five Eggon elected members representing various constituencies at the state House of Assembly in Lafia.
Muluku, who is also the Chairman, House Standing Committee on Planing, Budget and SDGs, said that no tribe in the state could stand on its own as all needed each other to succeed politically and otherwise.
He emphasised the need for understanding, forgiveness and unity among various ethnic groups in the state.
“Tell me, can Eggon people alone have 50 per cent majority votes in the state to contest and win governorship election? No!
“Therefore, we need to synergise with other tribes, apologise to each other to forgive and forget the past, ” he said.
Maluku equally tasked the students union to carry out extensive sensitisation among Eggon people on peace and unity as well as educate students on the danger of cultism and other negative acts.
The lawmaker urged the students and other Nigerians to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities in the interest of peace and development.
Earlier, the leader of the union, Bala Ayiwulu, informed the lawmakers that they were at the Assembly to congratulate and identify with them over their successful inauguration as members.
He emphasised the need for the Eggon lawmakers to leave above board, while discharging their duties.
The student leader appealed for their support in the area of mobility, functional secretariat and scholarships, among others
The sixth state Assembly has five Eggon elected members who are Aga Muluku-Nasarawa Eggon East, Mr Danladi Jatau – Kokona West, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali- Lafia North, Mr Abel Bala Nasarawa Eggon West and Alhaji Abdullahi Angibi-Lafia Central.
