The Ogun Signage Advertisements Agency, on Tuesday, said it had generated the sum of N119 million as revenue to the coffers of the state government between January and June.

Mr Damilola Sowunmi, the Head, Administration and Supply of the agency, made this disclosure during an oversight visit to the agency’s office in Abeokuta by the Assembly Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism.

Sowunmi noted that the revenue was generated from streetlight poles, billboards, signages and mobile adverts.
He added that the agency had been able to increase its revenue due to its aggressive revenue drive.

“We have built a culture of transparency, integrity and professionalism through prudent management of resources and revenue drive,” he said.

He pleaded for more resources from the government with adequate investments in capital projects that would enhance revenue drive.

In his remark, Mr Yusuf Adejojo, the committee chairman, urged the agency to device legitimate means to generate more revenue for the state.

Adejojo promised the agency that the committee would look into some of the challenges facing the agency and liaise with the appropriate quarters.
