A Sharia Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna on Wednesday issued a warrant for the arrest of a couple for contempt of court, in an alleged illegal trespass on property case.
The judge, Malam Muhammad Shehu-Adamu, gave the order after Adam and Hassana Yakubu, failed to appear for him.
Shehu-Adam adjourned the case until Aug. 21.
Malam Mahmuda Audu,60, had dragged Adam and Hassana, to the court for illegal trespass on his property.
The complainant who resides at Kabalan Doki area of Kaduna told the court that he gave his neighbours permission to use his open space and corridor.
“I just wanted to help them so that they can have enough space to do their daily activities. I specifically told him not to raise a fence.
“Adam and his wife, build a toilet, a pen for their live-stock and also a room for their grinding machine without my consent, “he said.
Audu added that he reported the matter to the traditional head and the defendants were asked to stop using the grinding machine in the compound but they did not .
He prayed court to intervene in the matter and compel the defendants to leave his space.
The complainant also alleged that Hassana, calls him names.
