An NGO, Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC), on Thursday said only collaboration between the Senators would make the All Progressives Congress government’s “Next level’’ agenda realisable.

The President of the group, Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

Congratulating the new principal officers of the Senate, Nnam urged them to work in harmony.

He said that only a synergy between the senators irrespective of party affiliation would truly advance the frontiers of the country’s economy.

“Senators, especially the principal officers should close ranks for the good of Nigeria.

“Grandstanding and mudslinging must be jettisoned because the red chambers is hallowed and not a platform for that,’’ Nnam advised.

The ILDC boss called on the Senators to devise legislations that would complement the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari in transforming Nigeria.

According to him, the Nigerian project cannot be successfully executed without the support of the Senate.

NAN reports that Senator Abdullahi Abubakar Yahaya from Kebbi is the new Senate Leader, while Ajayi Borofice from Ondo is Deputy Senate leader.

Former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu is the new Senate Chief Whip, while Senator Abdullahi Aliyu Sabi from Niger State becomes the Deputy Chief Whip.

Also, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe from Abia is the new Senate Minority Leader, while Senator Emmanuel Bwacha from Taraba is the Deputy Minority Leader.

Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, representing FCT is the Minority Whip, with Senator Sahabi Ya’u as the Deputy Minority Whip.
