The Senator-elect representing Imo North district, Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu, has staged a protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) demanding the release of his certificate of return.
The Federal High Court in Abuja had three weeks ago ordered the Commission to release the certificate of return but Uwajumogu is yet to get it.
Following reports, INEC refused to give the Senator his certificate of return, said he was wrongly declared winner of the election.
Director General of Benjamin Uwajumogu campaign organisation, Matthew Omegara, during the protest said that INEC should be held responsible for any break down of law and order giving the commission 24 hours to release the certificate of return.
