Police arraign Senator Elisha Abbo before Abuja magistrates’ court

Senator Elisha Abbo, despite apologising after he assaulted a woman inside a sex shop in Abuja, will today,July 8th be arraigned before Zuba Magistrate court, Abuja.

Bala Ciroma, Commissioner of Police,Federal Capital Territory Police Command, confirming this to The Punch, said Abbo will be arraigned on a one-count charge of assault.

“They (police officers) have taken him to the Zuba Magistrate court for arraignment. They are on their way now.” Ciroma said.

It was gathered that Police detectives had established a prima facie case against the Peoples Democratic Party lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Abbo was interrogated last Thursday and subsequently detained for 24 hours.

According to reports, the senator in a press statement he issued last week, was also said to have added to the bulk of evidence against him.
