Ooni to Buhari: Strangers have invaded our forests in South-West

The Ooni of Ice, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has said that many of the forests in the South-West have been invaded by people he called strangers.
Speaking on security situation in the country, the Ooni said many people now lived with anxiety and fear.
He made this known on Wednesday when he visited President Muhammadu Buhari in the State House, abuja.
He told newsmen that he was mandated by other Obas in the region to meet with the President on the matter.
“TI am here to speak with the President on the security situation in the country. he issue at hand is real,” the Ooni said.
The monarch, who, alongside Prof. Role Soyinka, recently called for nigerians to defend their lands – after a meeting with the Nobel laureate – said insecurity was worse in ural and remote areas of Yorubaland.
He said the monarchs were working with government to check the menace but called for more action.
While saying Buhari had given a directive that the leadership of the security forces visit traditional rulers in the South-West to discuss issues, he said, “We don’t want war. Who can stand war? We want something good for our youths.”
