Villareal’s player Samuel Chukwueze has a place in the hall of fame of Saturday’s victory over Cameroon although he did not score any goal.
Odeon Ighalo must claim the Man of the Match crest but many will see Chukwueze as the game changer.
Ighalo and Alex Iwobi sank the Lions, scoring two goals and one respectively in a game that was very dramatic.
Chukwueze, who was brought in around 15 minutes in the second half, proved that he is a very talented player.
He could dribble, hold ball while his passes were generally sharp.
As a result, he was able to bring stability to Eagles while putting pressure on the opponents’ wall.

The Eagles led until the 41st minute, through an Odion Ighalo goal, before being pegged back and going behind within three minutes.

Goals from Ighalo and Alex Iwobi within three minutes after the hour restored the Nigerian side’s lead and gave them the important win.

Nigeria will now on Wednesday meet the winners of the fixture between hosts Egypt and South Africa, which will be played later on Saturday.
