Eternal Care Foundation (ECF), a non-profit organisation, on Wednesday in Lagos promised to carry out welfare projects for the less privileged.
The Director-General of the foundation, Mr Olabode Garbadeen, gave the assurance while donating food packs and drinks to the less privileged at the Beggars’ Colony, Oko Babain Ebute Meta, Lagos.
He said that inequality, poverty and hunger in Nigeria would be greatly reduced if everyone would contribute to the welfare of the needy.
While donating food to the various sections in the destitute home, including the leprous, blind and cripple, Garbadeen said that ECF would continue to support the home and other less priveleged members of the society.
“It is a lesson for all of us; you may think that you are poor, but there are people who are poorer. “That is why we should give, no matter how little we think we have.
“No matter who you are in a society, whatever you can give will go a long way to assist the needy,” he said.
He noted that the foundation had initiated a borehole project in Oke Balogun Community in Epe, Lagos.
Responding, the spokesman for the home, Mr Salisu Idris, thanked the foundation for the kind gesture and appealed to other well meaning individuals and groups to show kindness to the home.
Earlier, the foundation at its general meeting in Ikeja, celebrated the 57th birthday anniversary of Garbadeen.
Members of the foundation eulogised Garbadeen’s virtues. They sang and danced to celebrate his philanthropy and service to humanity.
