Embattled Obaseki asks: ‘What is my offence?’

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has demanded to know what his offence is concerning the political crisis rocking his party, the All Progressives Congress, in the state.
It is an election year in the state but he and his former ‘godfather’, Adams Oshiomhole, are locked in a bitter feud.
The crisis came to a head recently when members of the house of Assembly split into two, with an attending confusion that has led to the closure of the institution.
But speaking on the matter on Friday, Obaseki said it was ironic that Edo was being ruled by the APC, yet it was facing the battle.
“What is my offence?” he asked. “The only thing I have done, they say, is that I have refused to share money. I will not allow Edo State to be a pawn in the political chess it of anybody.”
