Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has said that the herdsmen settlement programme called NUGA did not emanate from the Governors Forum.
Fayemi, who is also the chairman of the forum, noted that the scheme was voluntary on the part of the government of each state.
Fayemii’s clarification, made during an interview on ‘Channels Television’, came at the time the Vice President, Prof. Femi Osinbajo, also declared that RUGA was not being supervised by his office.
Fayemi said the project was targeted at accommodating herders, and wondered why a Taraba State governor would reject it since he was part of the food security council that conceived RUGA.
