A resident of Erimope Ekiti in Ekiti State, Mrs Abosede Falade, has passed on following a Cesarean Section conducted on her by a traditional birth attendant.
The child survived, according to the police in the state, which added that the man had fled.
While the security forces are searching for him, the state government is taking care of the baby in one of its facilities.
