It is a season of double blessings for celebrated gospel-juju musician, Abel Dosunmu, aka Mega 99.
About two months after he unveiled a solid house in Lagos, he has also launched a beautiful ride.
His new car is a Range Rover Evoque, about which tongues are really wagging.
When phenomenal.com.ng sought to speak with Mega 99 on the ride, he rather parried the question.
He said, “Let us just thank God for all the Blessings. I thank God for all the progress we are making. I thank God and I thank my fans who have always been with us.”
With Abel Olufemi Dosunmu as his full name, Mega 99, created his group, Abel Dosunmu & the Mega 9’9 Band, in 1994.
According to a profile, the band that started in Oshodi, Lagos in 1994 was conceived to initiate a unique musical genre that will be a fusion of gospel and juju music, and that was the inception of a GOSPEL-JUJU band created by Mega 9’9
Born and raised in Oshodi, Lagos State where he attended primary and secondary school before gaining admission into Ogun State University (popularly known as OSU) and now Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State where he obtained B.Sc in Accounting.
During his undergraduate studies, it was a very difficult task joggling between music and studies most especially when his musical activities is in another state far away from where he studied. Amidst all these barriers, he worked so hard and released his debut album ‘My Mother’ in 1998, followed by ‘Prayer’ in 2000.
His other works include Ona Ara, ‘Weep Not’, ‘Mega Superstar’ and the Yearly Supplication Series.
Mega 99 is currently shooting the video of ‘Mega Superstar’, in which the Range Rover is being prominently featured.
The video is being shot in the Lagos area.
“The video is going to be fantastic,” Mega 99 said.
