Liverpool have crowned their super show this season as they have won the covetous Champions League Cup.
In a match characterised by nearly excessive caution on the one hand, and and ill-luck on the other, they defeated Tottenham 2-0, with Mohammed Sala and Divock Origi sharing the booties in the first and second half.
While both teams voted for caution especially in the first half – fun lovers are blasting them for making the duel boring – Moussa Sisiko symbolises the hard luck that Tottenham suffered, having inflicted on them a spot kick when his hand loitering in the air blocked a ball lift by Sadio Mane.
But the hero of the match seems to be Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, who put up a spectacular show.
He saved several shots that could have crippled Liverpool.
Analysts are likely to describe him as the man of the match, as evident in his winning the Golden Glove.
This happened on a night that traditional game winners did not have a ‘wao!’ effect.
These include Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
Overall, however, Liverpool deserved the victory as they showed more energy and focus that the opponents.
