Police in Enugu are in search for some gunmen who killed an employee of Cross River State University, Mr Bassey Ekpeyong Yang, on Thursday.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident and the incident happened just a few days after a professor at the Rivers State University, Emmanuel Amadi, was gunned down.
According to ‘The Nation’, Inyang, an architect with the university, was killed by the gunmen who laid in wait for him just outside his house, along New Airport Road in Calabar-South, as he just came back from church with his wife.
It was gathered that as he drove home it was gathered that the gunmen who were in a nondescript bus, shot him killing him instantly, an eyewitness said.
In the case of Amadi,it was gathered thatt some suspected armed robbers killed him in the early hours of yesterday.
Spokesman for RSU, Mr. Sydney Enyindah, had confirmed the news and said it was a great loss to the university.
He said “Prof. Amadi was attacked in his house at Rumuorlumeni, Port Harcourt in the early hours of today (yesterday) by armed robbers. The sad information came while we were having a management meeting today.”
