Two men: Charles Amakanyadioha and Raphel Amechi on Wednesday appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly kidnapping three children.

Amakanyadioha, 52, and Amechi, 52, are facing charges of conspiracy and kidnapping.

They, however, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on June 14 at 1.40p.m., at Gboke Street, Ijagemo in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Uwadione said that the defendants kidnapped three children whose ages are: two years, four years and six years respectively.

He said the children allegedly kidnapped belonged to Mr Timothy Adeposi and Mrs Rashidat Oyedotun.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 2 and 3 of Kidnapping Prohibition Laws of Lagos State, 2017.

The chief magistrate, Mrs Adeola Adedayo, remanded the defendants at the Ikoyi Prisons and adjourned the case until June 25.
