A 23-year-old barber, Jide Samson, on Friday appeared in a Karmo Grade I Area Court in Abuja for allegedly stealing N15, 000 and a 32–inch Tv.
Samson, who is a barber at Angwan, Hausawa Karmo Abuja, is Schaefer with two counts of house breaking and theft.
The Prosecutor, Ijeoma Ukagha informed the court that one Blessing Otinyi, who resides in Karmo , Abuja reported the matter at the Karmo Police Station on May 21.
Ukagha said that on the same date at about 2 a.m Samson and one other now at large criminally broke into the complainant’s room through the window and stole N15, 000, a 32-inch LG television valued N44,000 and an Mp3 .
She said said during police investigation, the defendant could not give a satisfactory account of the missing property.
The offenc, she said, contravened the provisions of Sections 356 and 288 of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 and a surety in like sum.
Maiwada ordered that the surety must have a reasonable means of livelihood and must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
The judge adjourned the case until June 26 for hearing.
